Opis produktu

Synthetic opal fountain pen

Wave blue opal #olp350 - The name opal comes from the Sanskrit "upala" - expensive stone or from the Greek. opallios (Latin: opalus) - to see a change (color). Interestingly, the Romans imported opals from India and Romania. Much later, deposits were discovered in Mexico, Africa and Australia. Opals are characterized by opalescence, i.e. a color change when the stone moves. The effect that causes iridescence is the refraction, splitting and reflection of light on small silica balls inside the mineraloid. In this case, the presence of "ordered" structures is necessary - parallel planes, the more densely packed, the more intense the play of colors. Our pen is made of synthetic opal with a dark blue color and green iridescence. It is a fantastic material made of crystalline silica embedded in a polymer, just like in real stone. With each movement, the fountain pen shimmers and brings out beautiful blue flashes.
