Synthetic opal fountain pen
Peacock Opal Swirl OLP377- The name opal comes from the Sanskrit heat - expensive stone, precious stone; or from Greek Opallios (Latin: Opalus) - to see a change (color). The most beautiful opals were found in Australia, and the Aborigines - the indigenous inhabitants of this continent - believed that opals were stones touched by the feet of the creator who descended from heaven to earth on a rainbow to bring the news of peace to people. Our pen is made of synthetic opal with a surprising range of colors. It is a fantastic material made of crystalline silica embedded in a polymer. It is more durable and resistant compared to natural one, and it looks very similar to it. This time, the synthetic opal shimmers like a real peacock opal, whose colors are blue, green and red. Ours also has a yellow iridescence. With each movement, the pen shimmers and brings out a real cascade of colors. The Swirl shape, with facets twisted around the axis of the pen, further enhances this shimmer - each plane catches the light differently, guiding the reflections in a spiral across the body and cap.
