Description
Wooden fountain pen
Living Fire – that’s what we named this pen made from red-orange maple burl. The wood was stained red, but as is often the case with burl, the color intensity varies. This particular piece had very distinct growth patterns, which is why the surface is so richly textured. You can see ripples, streaks, and rings from the growth of new buds, and each of these structures absorbed the dye differently. As a result, the barrel features a pattern resembling glowing embers, flashes of sparks, and undulating flames. The cap is similar. The pen seems almost hot to the touch. The section is made of red resin with added glitter and gold flakes, reminiscent of a dying campfire. For this fiery pen, we chose a Jowo silver nib. Are you afraid of fire? Will you take this pen in hand?
Satin finish. Pen finished with waxes (polish), you can feel the structure of the wood.
