This is an interesting but also dangerous topic. In Africa and South America, cutting down noble tree species is like poaching (but we will not elaborate on this). Obtaining such wood is very difficult because we care about good quality, nice pieces and, of course, the honesty of the seller. Most of the pieces of wood we buy travel to Poland for weeks before they reach the workshop. As you know from the descriptions, we have species from Australia, Oceania, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, South and North America and Africa. Species from wetlands with a large amount of oils and hardwoods from desert areas. Fortunately, some species are cultivated for their fruit or wood, so we can obtain them from this source. What saves us is that fountain pens are small and only a small piece is enough. Unfortunately, the cost of obtaining the wood itself, transporting and processing it is high, which is unfortunately reflected in the cost of the pen.
