These are our flagship pens because they are made of wood. We have the most fun producing these pens, but we also have the most chance of going wrong. It is worth mentioning that preparing wood for fountain pens sometimes takes a lot of time, so this is reflected in the price. We will write about the wood itself and preparations in the next post. Vega can have a cap and body made entirely of wood, and they can have resin inserts or endings in solid wood. In this fountain pen, the interesting wood may be infused with resin to create a two-colored pen, or there may be an inset at the end of the pen with embedded gemstones, shells, or interesting objects. In rare cases, Vega may have a resin cap. Importantly, the section is always made of resin or ebonite. Why not wood? It's simple - you can't stabilize the wood so that it won't react with the ink. After prolonged use, it will always become discolored somewhere or, worse still, deformed after absorbing water from the ink. The section in which the nib is mounted must be the same size and shape at all times and not react with the ink.
